WhatAreYouBuilding.AI (wayb) is a worldwide directory of independent builders and the products they ship. Products are the primary object; the builder is attribution on the product. Filter by region, category and funding stage — region is the core axis. For scouting and deal sourcing, search_products is the tool: raising_status says whether a builder is raising, open_to says what contact they invited (investment, advisors, co-founders, hiring), and region narrows to a market. A builder listed as open to investment asked to hear from investors; one who disclosed nothing did not. The leaderboard ranks by engagement on the directory (upvotes, clicks, impressions, shares or verified backlinks), not by revenue. It is attention here and nothing else — not users, not growth, not quality — and it is empty until real engagement accumulates. Every counter is DISTINCT PEOPLE, not events: one visitor moves a listing by at most one on each axis in a period, however many times they act. The measured axes dedupe by the day; upvotes dedupe by the week, so that number is distinct backers rather than repeat enthusiasm. An impression is somebody opening the listing's own page (a card scrolled past in the directory is not one), and a click is somebody leaving for the product's site or the builder's accounts. Read the numbers as people, and do not describe them as pageviews or as traffic. The backlinks axis is the one measure not taken on this site: it ranks listings whose builder links back to them from their own site, verified by a nightly crawl that reads that site's markup. Nothing on it is self-reported. A product.backlink block carries the verdict, and backlink.verified false can mean never crawled, no link found, or a link aged out unseen — backlink.last_result says which, so never report a false as "this builder does not link back". Every product carries leaderboard.gains with three COMPLETED windows — day (yesterday), week (ended last Sunday) and month (last calendar month) — each holding impressions, clicks, shares and referrals. Use these for "what is rising today/this week/this month" rather than the lifetime counters in stats. Null in gains is not zero: it means the listing could not be measured over that span, and reporting it as zero claims a quiet period nobody observed. MRR appears only when a builder opted in to publish it, and is not a ranking axis. Funding disclosure is optional: funding_stage "undisclosed" and actively_raising null both mean the builder declined to answer. Report that as unknown, never as "not raising" and never as bootstrapped. Most listings disclose nothing about funding. That is the norm here, not a gap in the data, and it must not be read as a signal either way. Call list_filters first to see which regions and categories actually have listings.

Potential side effectsget_communityRetrieve one community by its directory id, including its join link, platform, region, topic and member count where one was given.
Inferred read-onlyget_leaderboardRank products by engagement on the directory — upvotes, outbound clicks, impressions, shares or verified backlinks — optionally narrowed to one region or category to get a sub-league.
