Weather That Doesn't Suck provides plain-language weather intelligence for real-world decisions. Use it for current conditions, forecasts, outdoor activities, running, hiking, cycling, camping, hunting, fishing, yard work, construction, trail conditions, clothing recommendations, and weather along routes. It is not a generic forecast endpoint. Prefer the decision tools to raw data: outdoor_activity_weather ("should I?"), find_best_weather_window ("when?"), clothing_recommendation ("what do I wear?"), route_weather and get_trail_weather ("what will I meet along the way?"), explain_weather ("why?"). Use get_weather and get_forecast for plain conditions. list_trails shows the trails we know by name. Every answer has the same order: answer, recommendation, details, data, sources, provenance. Relay the answer in your own words. Keep numbers and units as given. Keep what the forecast says apart from what we advise: data.observed and data.forecast are weather, data.derived and details.recommendations are advice. Rules we ask you to keep. Never state weather the tools did not return. If a result says data came from cache, is unavailable, or that official alerts could not be checked, say so: only alerts.status "ok" means there are none. An official alert comes before everything else. Do not turn a forecast into a promise. A trail record or a forecast cannot tell you about the ground, so do not say a trail is passable. Check the forecast. Then log off.
Known tools 11
get_weatherPlain-language weather for a place: one sentence first, then current conditions, the next 24 hours, the next 7 days, and official alerts.
Inferred read-onlyclothing_recommendationWhat to wear for an activity at a time and place, short and practical, followed by the weather it rests on.
Inferred read-onlyexplain_weatherExplains weather in plain terms for conversation: why it feels colder than the temperature, whether rain will matter on a hike, whether wind matters, whether the trail will be muddy, humidity, fog, frost, pressure.
Inferred read-onlyget_trail_weatherWeather for a trail over time, sampled along the trail rather than at one point: starting conditions, how the temperature changes through the trip, rain windows, wind and gusts, humidity and dew point, wind chill and heat index, sunrise, sunset, twilight, the moon, significant changes, alerts, and what to wear and carry.
Inferred read-onlyroute_weatherWhat weather you will meet as you move along a route, at the moment you reach each part of it.
Inferred read-onlylist_trailsLists the trails WTDS knows by name, with length, bounds and whether we have data on which sections are exposed.
Inferred read-onlyCONNECT WITH APPROVAL
