Server instructions

shadertown is a catalogue of 77 production WebGPU shaders: animated backgrounds, image effects and GPU simulations, each a single WGSL fragment stage with typed parameters. The flow: `search_shaders` to find candidates, `get_shader` for one shader's controls and how to use it, `get_shader_source` for the files themselves. 16 shaders return their source to anyone. The rest need an Authorization header carrying a device token from an account on a paid plan; without one they answer with what to do about it. This server hands back bytes — it cannot write to the user's project. To have files written in place, run the stdio server instead: `npx shadertown mcp`, which adds `install_shader`.

Known tools 3

search_shaders

Search the shadertown catalogue of WebGPU shaders (animated backgrounds, image effects and GPU simulations).

Inferred read-only
get_shader

Everything about one shader: what it draws, every tunable control with its range, default and meaning, the colours it takes, how to use it in React or anywhere else, and a browser URL where a person can tune it live.

Inferred read-only
get_shader_source

The files that make up one shader: the complete WGSL, a typed preset pinned to the params you pass, a ready-to-paste React example, a README documenting every control, and the LICENSE.

TRUST AND VERIFICATION EVIDENCE

Indexed

Evidence is source-attributed and does not guarantee that a third-party server is safe. Risk labels are conservative metadata heuristics.
