PackIndex is a live price benchmark for packaging materials and their inputs, in USD with live FX to any currency: L0 primary inputs (crude oil, naphtha, natural gas, electricity, diesel, carbon, primary metals, recovered fibre), L1 raw materials (polymers such as PP, HDPE, LDPE, PET; pulps; aluminium coil, steel), L2 semi-finished (kraftliner, testliner, boxboard, BOPP / BOPET films, foil) and L3 finished packs (boxes, pouches, bottles). Every index has a value for today. Workflow: search_indices finds a code (plain words work: 'polypropylene', 'recovered paper') → get_live_index or get_prices (up to 20 codes) for values → get_index_history for the trend → get_index_forecast for the 12-week forward value. Buyer tools: check_quote tests a supplier price against the benchmark and its 12-month range; price_adjustment computes an index-linked contract price from a base price and date; compare_regions compares one material across Europe, US, China, Middle East (optionally landed with your freight and duty); explain_price_move splits a move into its input drivers; get_market_movers lists the biggest risers and fallers. get_carbon_index gives kg CO2e per unit (L3) or per tonne (materials). estimate_packaging_price prices a corrugated RSC box. Design Studio: draft_packaging_spec → cost_packaging_spec (1 Suite run each); list_my_projects, update_project (free), compare_packaging_options (1 run). Exchange: search_exchange_listings, find_suppliers, post_rfq (sends real RFQs — confirm with the user first), get_my_rfqs. packindex_query answers free-text questions. PACKIQ agents: list_packiq_agents → run_packiq_agent (needs the user's OPN account; spends credits) → get_agent_chain. Free callers see 12-week delayed reference values plus a daily live rotation; live values and changes need the Essential plan, regional comparisons and forward values the Professional plan (upgrade_url is in every limited response).
