HaulierScope answers questions about UK (Great Britain) goods vehicle (HGV) and bus/coach (PSV) operator licences, from the DVSA operator licence data (Open Government Licence v3.0), with Companies House, DVSA earned recognition and Traffic Commissioner context. How to use it: - Start with search_operators for a company name, a licence number (two letters + seven digits, e.g. OB1234567) or a company number. Then call get_licence or get_company for the full record. - Every result carries file_date (the DVSA file it describes), source and canonical_url. Quote the file date and link the canonical_url when you answer. - A licence missing from the latest file has in_current_file: false. Say "not in the DVSA file dated <date>"; never say revoked unless a Traffic Commissioner decision says so. - Status 'unmapped' is not valid. The continuation date is not an expiry date. - Sole traders and partnerships are individuals: they are never named and can only be looked up by exact licence number. Do not try to identify them. - Insolvency means liquidation, administration or receivership at Companies House, or a Gazette insolvency notice (insolvency_watch). Accounts overdue is a filing fact (filing_watch), not insolvency. Call a company dissolved only when companies_house.dissolved_verified is true. - HaulierScope is independent and not the official register; data is updated when DVSA publishes a new file (usually weekly). data_status gives the date of every source.
