Frapea is a video editor that runs in the user's browser; their footage never leaves their machine. Start with connect: if Frapea is already open, ask them for the pairing code (the Connect MCP button); if not, call connect with no arguments and send them the link it gives you. Then pass the token on every call. read_skill {topic:'editing'} explains how to cut; motion compositions have their own guides (read_skill {topic:'motion'}) — aim well beyond a PowerPoint of titles and bullets, and build UI-like parts on a parts board first, checked in one large frame. Media itself never travels over this connection: ask for frames with inspect_timeline, not for files. get_projects also reports which stock and voice providers this browser has keys for — if it returns providersAdvice, pass it on once in your first reply, and say nothing about it when it does not. MAKE EVERY URL CLICKABLE. Whenever you put a link in front of the user — a pairing link, somewhere to get an API key, a provider's docs — give it in the form THEIR client can click: a markdown link like [Pexels API keys](https://www.pexels.com/api/) where markdown renders, a bare URL in a terminal, which linkifies those itself. Never leave a URL buried in a sentence for them to select and copy. This applies to every link in this session, including ones these tools hand you raw.
Known tools 62
get_projectsLists the projects Frapea knows on this machine: id, name, lastOpenedAt, and for a project stored in a folder on disk its `folder` (the directory's name — files you write into its `media/` subfolder join the pool by themselves).
Potential side effectsget_timelineReads a project's timeline structure: timelines (id, name, fps, resolution) with tracks and clips.
Inferred read-onlyget_mediaLists the project's media library: mediaRef (the id clips use), name, kind (video/audio/image), durationSeconds, resolution, and sceneSamples — timestamps (seconds) where the visual indexer detected distinct moments.
Inferred read-onlyget_transcriptReturns the word-level speech transcript of one media asset: language and words [{text, startSec, endSec}].
Inferred read-onlycreate_motion_compositionCreates a MOTION COMPOSITION — an animated graphic (infographic, title, promo end-card, chart…) written as a React TSX component.
Inferred read-onlyupdate_motion_compositionUpdates a motion composition's TSX files and/or manifest (name, duration, schema…).
Inferred read-onlyget_motion_compositionReturns a motion composition's manifest and full TSX sources.
Inferred read-onlylist_motion_compositionsLists the project's motion compositions: id, mediaRef (for add_clips), name, size, fps, duration and the editable props schema.
Inferred read-onlyripple_delete_rangesExtracts [fromFrame, toFrame) on one track and shifts everything after it left to close the gap (sync-locked tracks follow).
Inferred read-onlygenerate_captionsGenerates animated captions from a spoken clip's transcript (the same generator as Frapea's UI): transcript words group into caption text clips over the clip's span, word-timed so the animation follows speech.
Inferred read-onlymanage_transitionsTransitions on a track's cuts OR lone clip edges (a free head/tail takes a single-sided fade from/to nothing; its alignment is forced).
Inferred read-onlyset_active_timelineSets which timeline the project opens on (and what the user sees if the editor is open).
Inferred read-onlyset_project_settingsUpdates a timeline's fps / width / height (clips keep their timing; content re-fits) and/or renames it.
Inferred read-onlyremove_wordsText-based editing: cuts the given transcript words OUT of a clip as ripple deletes (everything after each cut shifts left).
Inferred read-onlyremove_silenceCuts silent gaps inside a clip: any pause between transcribed words longer than minGapSec becomes a ripple delete (a small margin is kept so speech never clips).
Potential side effectsundoReverts the most recent edit THIS agent session made to the project (one step per call; repeat to go further).
Potential side effectsget_problemsWhat has gone WRONG in the user's editor — renders that failed or stopped, footage that would not decode, chunks that could not be prepared for playback, exports that failed — each with WHERE (the timeline and frames, the source and its own frames, the footage and frame the engine could not decode) and the reason in the engine's own words.
Inferred read-onlyget_bug_reportPrepare a BUG REPORT for the user: it opens in Frapea (Problems → Create bug report) for them to read and save.
Potential side effectsverify_timelineRENDER a timeline the way an export would and report what does not work — call it before you call any timeline done.
Inferred read-onlyinsert_clipsRipple-inserts media segments: everything at/after atFrame shifts right to make room (clips under the cut split).
Inferred read-onlyread_skillReturns Frapea's agent guide: editing conventions, tool workflow tips, the current feature surface, and the CREATIVE MANDATE — how far to run with a terse brief (source stock footage, sounds, voiceover, motion graphics and deliver a finished video vs.
Inferred read-onlyawait_user_actionWaits (up to ~45 s per call) for the user to resolve a pending Frapea prompt — e.
Inferred read-onlyopen_projectNavigates the user's Frapea tab to a project so they can WATCH the edit live.
Potential side effectsclose_projectNavigates the user's Frapea tab back to the project manager and releases this session's headless runtime for the project.
Inferred read-onlyconnect_media_folderAsks the user to attach a folder of THEIR OWN source footage to the project — opens a dialog in Frapea with a 'Connect folder' button.
Inferred read-onlyrequest_ai_modelsAsks the user to enable Frapea's on-device AI analyzers (picture search, speech).
Inferred read-onlystart_transcriptionTranscribes one asset even if automatic transcription is switched off.
Inferred read-onlyget_job_statusStatus of a background job started by a job-returning tool (generate_voiceover, verify_timeline): {state: queued|running|done|failed, progress: 0-1, detail, .
Inferred read-onlylist_voiceover_modelsThe text-to-speech providers Frapea can generate voiceovers with.
Inferred read-onlysearch_stock_mediaSearches the Pexels stock library (photos or videos) with the user's connected API key.
Inferred read-onlydownload_stock_mediaDownloads one Pexels asset into the project's media pool as a virtual file at the Library root (name `pexels-<id>.
Inferred read-onlysearch_soundsSearches the Freesound library (SFX, ambience, foley) with the user's connected API key.
Inferred read-onlydownload_soundDownloads one Freesound sound (its HQ MP3 preview, ~128 kbps — plenty for SFX/ambience) into the project's media pool as a virtual file at the Library root (name `freesound-<id>.
Inferred read-onlyadd_sfxfrapea's BUILT-IN sound-effects pack — synthesized, licence-free, no API key, no download wait.
Inferred read-onlyretry_analysisRuns ONE analysis of ONE asset again — picture indexing or speech transcription — clearing whatever failure was recorded for it.
Inferred read-onlyapply_layoutArranges clips into a screen layout by writing ordinary transform + crop values (first clipId → first cell).
Inferred read-onlytrack_facesFinds every FACE in a video clip and stores one independent path per person — position, size and head rotation (nod/turn/tilt) per frame.
Inferred read-onlylist_face_tracksLists face-tracking runs and the people each one found: faceId, name, frame range, how many frames it was actually visible for, and how many gaps it has.
Inferred read-onlymerge_facesJoins two or more faces from one run into a single person — for somebody who walked out of the shot and came back.
Inferred read-onlybind_faceMakes a clip FOLLOW a tracked face — the way to stick a mask, label or blur onto somebody's head.
Inferred read-onlyorganize_poolTHE MEDIA POOL'S SHAPE — bins (the pool's folders) and what sits in them.

MCP server metadata

Motion makes animated graphic videos from code, rendered in the user's browser tab. Start by calling connect with the token shown on the Motion page, then read_skill {topic:"motion"} before writing any composition. Unless they ask for plain, aim for something people would stop for — think well beyond a PowerPoint of titles and bullets; the story, its moments and the look are yours to decide. Build UI-like parts (buttons, pills, progress bars, cards) first on a parts board and check them in one large frame, then compose scenes from them. Someone is watching that tab while you work: build one scene at a time so they see it appear, and call tell_user as you go — read_skill {topic:"motion-workflow"} explains how, and how to check your own frames. For a piece with an audience and a purpose, read_skill {topic:"motion-review"}: how to argue it into shape before calling it done.
Known tools 19
list_mediaThe user's media library: folders, and files with id, name, kind, size and folder.
Inferred read-onlyput_mediaAdds a file to the library from a URL — the BROWSER fetches it, so nothing travels through this connection, but it only works on https hosts that send CORS headers.
Potential side effectsget_compositionOne composition in full: manifest, every source file, and current prop values.
Inferred read-onlycreate_compositionWrites a new composition and opens it as a tab in front of the user.
Inferred read-onlyset_propsSets prop values on a composition — the same values the user's controls change.
Inferred read-onlyget_problemsWHAT WENT WRONG in the user's tab: frames that failed to render (with the frame and the engine's own words), a preview that stopped moving (and at which frame, and why), compositions that would not load, clips that will not decode, missing footage, failed exports, a page the browser killed — plus warnings (notes about unread styles and the like).
