Server instructions

DrapeCut makes composite cloth cutting patterns from selected CAD surfaces. This is the hosted MCP service. Start with create_workspace and retain its secret workspace_id for all part tools. load_sample works immediately. For a user's file, give them the returned upload_url, wait for their upload, call list_uploads, then import_part with its upload_id. Never pass a local filesystem path or a URL to import_part. STEP import is asynchronous: poll get_job(kind='step'), inspect list_faces, and ask the user to choose the intended face IDs before select_faces. Do not assume every face of a solid is a ply surface. Use mm, mm² and degrees. Compare angles using one seed and the same cloth settings. Assess coverage, over-lock percentage and self-overlap as well as shear. Results are kinematic dry-cloth estimates, not structural certification. export_pattern returns a download_url: give it to the user and download wanted files promptly. Workspaces and links expire after two hours or a restart; solver handles can expire earlier. Workspace IDs and file URLs grant access; keep them private. This public beta is anonymous and does not connect to a signed-in user's saved projects. Backend export permissions still apply. Setup: https://drapecut.com/docs/mcp

Known tools 16

create_workspace

Create a private two-hour workspace and return its ID and CAD upload page.

Potential side effects
list_uploads

List files uploaded through this workspace's upload_url; pass an upload_id to import_part.

Inferred read-only
compare_drapes

Compare up to 12 warp angles, sequentially, at one fixed seed and cloth configuration.

Inferred read-only
create_layout

Start covering one surface with multiple pieces of the same ply/fabric.

Inferred read-only
export_pattern

Export a result as DXF or tiled 1:1 PDF and return a temporary download_url for the user.

Inferred read-only
get_job

Poll STEP import or multi-piece layout; retry after a short delay while done=false.

Inferred read-only
import_part

Import a file already uploaded to this workspace.

Inferred read-only
list_fabrics

List fabric IDs, nominal locking angles, tow pitch (mm), thickness and UD settings.

Inferred read-only
list_faces

Inspect STEP face IDs, areas, bounds, centroids, neighbours and planar mesh normals.

Inferred read-only
list_samples

List built-in example parts that can be loaded without uploading a file.

Inferred read-only
load_sample

Register a built-in sample and return a mesh_id for draping.

Inferred read-only
mesh_landmarks

Inspect seed landmarks in mm, paged within each category (max 100 per category).

Inferred read-only
run_drape

Drape one fabric at one warp angle (degrees); return statistics and an exportable result_id.

Inferred read-only
select_faces

Create a drapable mesh from explicitly chosen STEP face IDs; reports connectedness.

Potential side effects
server_status

Check the hosted DrapeCut solver and read connection/workspace limits.

Inferred read-only
suggest_seed

Suggest a starting point on a mesh.

Inferred read-only
