Magpie is a public daily brief on what became newly possible in AI (https://www.cameronsutcliff.com/magpie). Each morning (about 05:30 US Central) it collects new capabilities from GitHub, Hugging Face, papers, Hacker News, lab and product changelogs, newsletters, YouTube transcripts and developer accounts on X, clusters them, scores them in code, and has an editor write the words. Use magpie_today for the current edition, magpie_search to find capabilities across recent days, and magpie_capability for one item's sources and knock-on effects on one day. magpie_element follows one thing (a repo, model, paper, tool or official action) across every edition since element tracking began: where to find it, what it works with, the possibilities it fed and the actions that touch it. magpie_constraints covers the other direction: official actions (rules, orders, export controls, procurement bans, standards) that make AI harder to train, publish, host, reach or buy, plus trackers for how far open-weight models trail the closed frontier and what it costs to run them at home. New possibilities are reasoned ideas, not reported news. Evidence labels: reported (one source group), reproduced (something runnable plus two or more groups), corroborated (three or more groups), official (the issuer's own document, constraints only).
Known tools 9
magpie_todayThe day's edition: headline, the five leads with what each makes newly possible, the top new possibilities, and recommended viewing.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_searchFind AI capabilities across recent editions by keyword (a model, repo, company, technique or topic).
Inferred read-onlymagpie_capabilityEverything Magpie has on one capability: what it makes possible, why it matters, what is not proven, its knock-on effects, and every source.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_elementEverything Magpie knows about one thing it keeps meeting (a repo, model, paper, tool or official action) across every edition: what it is, where to find it, which sources surfaced it, what it works with (combined or covered with it, and the integrations its sources name), the new possibilities it fed, official actions that touch it, and each appearance with its signal and impact.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_possibilitiesWhat the day's capabilities make possible together: each idea's ingredients, chain of consequences, who it is for, the smallest test and what would prove it wrong.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_constraintsOfficial actions with a document (rules, orders, export controls, procurement bans, standards) that make AI harder, slower or costlier to train, publish, host, reach or buy: the day's new ones and those still open, with status, dates and the document.
Potential side effectsmagpie_viewingVideos judged worth watching from their transcripts, with why, what you come away with, and who should watch.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_risingRepos gaining the most stars, with the opening of each README and the posts, videos and threads that mentioned them that day.
Inferred read-onlymagpie_editionsThe available editions, newest first, each with its headline and five leads.

Evidence is source-attributed and does not guarantee that a third-party server is safe. Risk labels are conservative metadata heuristics.
